[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) has initiated an investigation into unfair practices by delivery apps, including Baedal Minjok.

On the 17th, the FTC dispatched investigators to the headquarters of Woowa Bros, which operates Baedal Minjok, as well as to the headquarters of Yogiyo and Coupang Eats, conducting on-site inspections. The FTC aims to uncover evidence of unfair practices by these companies, which dominate the delivery app market.

However, it's clarified that this investigation is not directly related to the core issue often highlighted with delivery apps, such as fee increases.

The government plans to hold a meeting soon with delivery platforms and small business owners to discuss cooperative measures regarding issues like fees.

An FTC official stated, "We cannot confirm details regarding the ongoing investigation," but emphasized that they would take strict action if any violations of the law are found.
