[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] On the 14th, the Fair Trade Commission announced that it will conduct a '2024 Distribution Sector Written Survey' targeting 7,600 supplier and retail establishments dealing with 42 distribution brands across 9 different sectors.
Since 2006, the FTC has annually conducted written surveys on the distribution sector. This year's survey includes duty-free shops and specialty stores in addition to the existing 7 sectors to better understand trading practices across various industries.
Newly included in the survey are companies such as Hotel Shilla, Lotte Duty Free, Shinsegae Duty Free, Hyundai Department Store Duty Free, Olive Young, Daiso, Hi-Mart, and Electronic Land.
The FTC aims to assess experiences with unfair trading practices by type, perception of improvement in trading practices, usage of standard contract terms, and awareness of new regulatory improvements through this investigation.
Additionally, awareness surveys on newly introduced regulations such as the prohibition clause in large-scale distribution management and promotion event guidelines will be conducted.
The FTC plans to analyze the results of this survey in November to examine trends in trading practices over the years and will subsequently release its findings.
