[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Winix is voluntarily recalling certain humidifier models due to potential corrosion of water filters, the Korea Consumer Agency announced on the 19th.

The recall affects 49,468 units of the "All Clean Humidifier (4L) WL3 series" across seven models, manufactured between September 2021 and June 2022.

The issue arises when the black sponge water filter is vigorously scrubbed with abrasive materials or exposed to direct sunlight, leading to aging and corrosion, which may cause debris to appear in the water tank.

Units sold after July 2022 have been equipped with improved mesh-type water filters.

The Consumer Agency urges owners of affected models to stop using the humidifiers immediately and contact Winix customer service for a swift replacement.
