[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Elevator has partnered with Kakao Mobility to accelerate the commercialization of elevator-robot integration services.

On August 8, Hyundai Elevator announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for "Elevator-Robot Integration Service Commercialization" at Kakao Mobility’s headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. The signing ceremony was attended by Hyundai Elevator CEO Jae-chun Cho and Kakao Mobility CEO Kyung-sun Ryu, along with other representatives from both companies.

Through this agreement, the two companies will work together to establish standard specifications for integrating elevators with robots and actively collaborate on the commercialization of related services. They plan to develop technologies that allow for the coexistence of robot services and elevators, and create integration standards applicable to various types of buildings. Additionally, they will form a technology enhancement committee and pursue strategic cooperation in sales and promotion.

Hyundai Elevator is already providing integration services between elevators and delivery robots through its advanced maintenance service, 'MIRI'. The company currently operates robot delivery services for pharmaceuticals and room service at 14 locations, including Kakao’s Pangyo Alpha Dome, Shinhan Bank headquarters, Factorial Seongsu, the National Cancer Center, and Yongin Severance Hospital.

The two companies aim to establish a market-leading foundation by leveraging user experiences and data and continue discussions on cooperation regarding vertical logistics within buildings.
