[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Shinhan Investment Corp. announced on the 4th that it invested $9.3 million (approximately 13.5 billion KRW) in Lambda, a leading U.S. AI cloud company, as part of the company's Series D funding round.
Lambda is the second-largest independent AI cloud provider in the U.S. and one of the companies that receives the largest supply of NVIDIA graphics processing units (GPUs) worldwide. Lambda offers AI cloud services based on NVIDIA GPU models, supporting developers in quickly building AI models and advancing research and development (R&D).
In this Series D round, which was jointly arranged by Andra Capital and SGW, Lambda raised a total of $480 million (approximately 701.1 billion KRW). In addition to Shinhan Investment Corp., other investors include NVIDIA, Supermicro, Pegatron, and Wistron.
Shinhan Investment Corp. has previously invested in Australian electrolyzer company Hysata and U.S. smart factory company Bright Machines for data center servers, in collaboration with major domestic companies.
