[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul – Naver and Lotte Retail Group announced on September 7 that they will collaborate to accelerate AI Transformation (AX) in the retail sector, combining Team Naver’s AI and cloud technologies with Lotte’s extensive retail infrastructure to create new AI-driven shopping experiences.

On September 5, Choi Soo-yeon, CEO of Naver, and Kim Sang-hyun, Vice Chairman and Head of Lotte Retail, met at Naver 1784 headquarters to discuss cooperation strategies. Based on this meeting, the two companies agreed to expand collaboration in areas such as:

Development of AI agents specialized in retail

Advancement of AI-powered digital marketing

Integration across commerce and payment services

As part of the initiative, Team Naver will apply its AI and cloud capabilities to the operations of Lotte Mart, Hi-Mart, and other offline stores. The companies plan to develop four types of retail-specialized AI agents—focused on shopping, merchandising (MD), operations, and business support—and roll them out sequentially across stores, logistics centers, and other retail sites.

The partnership will also strengthen digital marketing cooperation. Naver Cloud’s AI marketing solution “NCLUE”, along with Naver’s digital advertising tools, will be applied across Lotte Retail’s diverse channels, including offline displays. This integration aims to enhance AI-driven customer analysis and increase the precision of targeted advertising.
