[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] NCsoft has taken out a recommendation card. Analysts say the decision is aimed at minimizing labor and other costs as operating profit plunged 70 percent last year from the previous year.

According to the industry on the 25th, NCsoft has recently notified employees of their recommended resignation individually, focusing on employees belonging to non-development and support departments. The exact size of the restructuring is not known, but the number of employees subject to the recommended position is at least dozens, and some of them belong to the development group. An official of NC explained, "We are considering various measures to improve the constitution, but there is no confirmation regarding the manpower."

According to the business report, the total number of NCsoft employees was 5,023 as of the end of December last year. By job group, there are 3,591 R&D jobs related to game development. In addition, there are 1,107 business and management managers and 325 IT and platform workers.

The fundamental background of the recommended resignation is known to be deterioration in management performance. NCsoft posted poor performance last year, with sales falling 30.8% compared to 2022 and operating profit plunging 75.4%. It is analyzed that sales of the "Lineage" mobile game trilogy (Lineage M, Lineage 2M, and Lineage W), which used to be Cash Cow, have fallen rapidly.

NCsoft also notified more than 70 employees of its subsidiary Ntreev Soft, which developed the mobile game 'Trickster M' this year, and organized the corporation as of February 15.
