[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Naver Cloud announced on the 20th that it has integrated and built the next-generation Hospital Information Systems (HIS) for nine national hospitals on the Naver Cloud platform.
This conversion project was characterized by integrating and building systems on the cloud-based platform due to the aging equipment and technology of existing hospital information systems. The previous systems were operated separately by each hospital department, posing limitations on integrated maintenance and management. By integrating and building the system on a cloud-based platform, it maximized operational efficiency by managing it under the same operating environment.
In this construction project, the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), responsible for integrated project management (PMO), cloud selection, and operation, emphasized that as this construction project involves a transition to a cloud-based environment, ensuring service operation stability, security, and monitoring support was paramount. Therefore, they highly evaluated Naver Cloud's extensive experience in constructing and operating hospital information systems, obtaining cloud security certification (CSAP), and providing commercial software (SW) and fully managed database (DB) services.
Naver Cloud has experience in building cloud-based systems for a total of seven hospitals, including Korea University Guro Hospital, which was the first in the country to transition to a cloud-based Precision Medical Hospital Information System. They have also established a dedicated organization centered on Technical Account Managers (TAMs) with years of experience in operating hospital information systems to provide a stable operating base 24/7.
They also emphasized having a proper security system. They can securely store medical data through services such as Naver's own security services and monitoring activities, vulnerability management, risk detection, and response.
