[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Chem has announced that it will supply cathode materials to Prime Planet Energy & Solutions (PPES), a joint venture between Toyota and Panasonic.

PPES is a company that supplies electric vehicle batteries to various global automakers (OEMs), including Toyota. LG Chem plans to provide cathode materials to the PPES plant in Japan, targeting the year 2026.

LG Chem is already supplying cathode materials for several global OEM electric vehicle models. The company aims to align with PPES's low-carbon vision by focusing on the development of innovative materials and process technologies that minimize environmental impact while producing high-performance batteries.
