[Alpha Biz= Reporter Ryu Jungmin] JTBC's 'Newsroom' has issued an official apology regarding a false report involving BTS member Suga.

On the 16th, 'Newsroom' became the center of controversy after airing a CCTV video exclusively, claiming that Suga had been caught by the police while driving an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol.

The video showed a man driving through a street in the Yongsan area of Seoul, which was later revealed to be someone other than Suga, causing the controversy to escalate.

After it was confirmed that the person in the video was not Suga, criticism mounted.

JTBC promptly took action by removing the problematic video from its official channels and YouTube.

However, the false report had already spread widely, leading to strong backlash from BTS fans, who demanded truthful reporting.

Ultimately, 'Newsroom' anchor Choi Jae-won issued an official apology during the broadcast, stating, "We deeply apologize for delivering incorrect information regarding BTS member Suga's DUI incident on our 'Newsroom' program on the 7th."

Suga had previously been involved in an accident where he fell while riding an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol.

His agency, BigHit Music, revealed that following a police investigation, Suga was fined and had his license revoked based on his blood alcohol level.
