[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] According to a survey by Gallup Korea on the 5th, among respondents, 74% named Naver as their most preferred internet portal site, followed by Daum (12%) and Google (9%). A small percentage mentioned Nate (0.3%), TikTok, and Kakao (0.1%).

Gallup Korea also released survey results from previous years, including those from 2004, 2014, and 2019, showing trends over the past 5 to 10 years.

In May 2004, Daum topped the list with 47%, followed by Yahoo (21.1%) and Naver (20.5%). However, Naver's popularity continued to grow, reaching 71% in 2014, while Yahoo completely ended its Korean service in 2012 after 15 years in the Korean market.

Daum, which was the top choice in 2004, has seen a continuous decline in popularity, and the difference in preference between Daum and Google has narrowed from 8 percentage points in 2019 to 3 percentage points this year.
