Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong Meets Mukesh Ambani to Discuss Expanded Collaboration in Semiconductors, Telecom, Data Centers, and Batteries

[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong met with Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries and widely known as Asia’s wealthiest business leader, on the 25th to explore broader cooperation across key future-growth sectors including semiconductors, telecommunications, data centers, and batteries. Ambani, with an estimated net worth of USD 116 billion, heads India’s largest conglomerate spanning petrochemicals, steel, telecommunications, retail, and financial services.


Ambani arrived in Seoul earlier that morning via the Gimpo Business Aviation Center, accompanied by his eldest son Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm. Their visit included meetings with senior executives from Samsung’s major affiliates.


Samsung said in a statement that Ambani visited Samsung Electronics’ Seocho headquarters, where top management presented the group’s technological capabilities and future business roadmap in areas such as:

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Extended Reality (XR)

Foundry (semiconductor manufacturing)

AI data centers

Next-generation communications

Advanced display technologies

Cloud services

Batteries and energy storage systems (ESS)

Plant engineering and construction


Executives from Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung C&T, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung E&A, and Samsung Human Resources Development Center participated in the briefing. Ambani also experienced Samsung’s latest innovations, including the newly released Galaxy XR device and micro RGB display technology.


Chairman Lee hosted a dinner meeting with Ambani later in the day to further discuss ways to deepen cooperation. Attendees included:

Samsung and Reliance are expected to explore partnership opportunities across digital infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, and next-generation technologies.
