[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, November 19 — Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest businessman and Chairman of Reliance Industries, is set to visit South Korea on November 25 for a two-day trip, during which he is expected to discuss future business cooperation with Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong.

Ambani will be accompanied by his eldest son, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm. The two are scheduled to tour Samsung’s Suwon campus, where Samsung plans to showcase its 5G equipment production line and ongoing 6G research.

A dinner meeting in Seoul is also likely, where the companies are expected to explore expanded collaboration in 5G and 6G network technology, as well as artificial intelligence (AI) and other future business areas.

Reliance Group is one of India’s largest conglomerates, operating across petrochemicals, steel, telecommunications, retail, and finance. Its telecom subsidiary Jio has over 500 million subscribers and is undergoing a large-scale 5G transition. Samsung, which supplied equipment for Jio’s 4G rollout in India, is seen as a strong candidate—alongside Ericsson and Nokia—to supply 5G gear for the network upgrade.

Reliance is also building a 3GW data center in Gujarat, which is expected to increase demand for high-speed, high-capacity network solutions—potentially creating further opportunities for Samsung’s 5G and 6G infrastructure.
