Samsung Heavy Industries Secures $500 Million LNG Carrier Order for Two Vessels

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 2nd that it has signed a construction contract with an Asian shipowner for two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.


The vessels are scheduled to be delivered sequentially by April 2027.

With this order, Samsung Heavy Industries has secured a total of 24 vessels (worth approximately $5.4 billion) this year, achieving 56% of its annual target of $9.7 billion.

The company currently has an order backlog of $31.9 billion, securing more than three years' worth of work.
