[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] On the afternoon of the 6th, Naver's simple payment service, Naver Pay, failed to make online and offline payments. The failure was restored in an hour, and the cause was confirmed to be a setup error during the point server-related work.
According to Naver, payments in Naver shopping, purchase confirmation, refund receipt and payment-type franchise payment, and Naver Pay's on-site QR payment (point, money payment) did not work for about an hour from 2:15 p.m. to 3:20 p.m.
Some speculated that Naver Pay may have been caused by the recent influx of users by linking Samsung Pay and the simple payment service, but there were no on-site QR payments and Samsung Pay errors linked to credit and check cards, according to the company.
"There was an error in Naver Pay payment, refund, purchase confirmation and on-site payment," Naver Pay said in a notice. "The failure that occurred has been recovered and we are very sorry for the inconvenience in using the service."
An official of Naver Pay said, "The current error has been restored and the cause of the failure is a setup error during the point server-related work."
