[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] SEOUL, November 18 — After facing “shrinkflation” controversy and restoring product portions, Kyochon Chicken has raised the prices of certain boneless chicken menu items by KRW 2,000 on delivery apps at some Seoul locations.

Several mid-Seoul branches are now selling items such as Honey Garlic Boneless, Mala Red Boneless, and Half-and-Half Boneless for KRW 25,000, up from KRW 23,000, on Baemin and Coupang Eats. In-store prices remain unchanged, resulting in a dual pricing system between dine-in and delivery.

Branch owners reportedly raised prices autonomously due to increased raw material costs and delivery app fees following the restoration of boneless chicken portions.

A Kyochon F&B spokesperson said franchise headquarters cannot control franchisees' “autonomous pricing” on delivery platforms. The company added that Honey Garlic Boneless and Mala Red Boneless will be discontinued on November 20.

Kyochon previously sparked backlash in September after reducing boneless chicken weight from 700g to 500g while mixing in chicken breast meat. Following public and political criticism, the company announced it would restore weights and ingredients beginning November 20.
