[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Hanmi Pharmaceutical announced plans to file charges against Hanmi Science CEO Lim Jong-hoon and key associates, accusing them of false accusations, obstruction of business, and breach of trust. This action follows recent allegations by Hanmi Science against Hanmi Pharmaceutical executives for embezzlement and other misconduct.
In a statement released on the 20th, Hanmi Pharmaceutical said, "Hanmi Science is continuously filing complaints against our executives, clearly intending to influence the upcoming extraordinary shareholders' meeting." The company added, "To counter the dissemination of distorted information that could mislead shareholders, we are filing charges against CEO Lim and others for false accusations, along with additional charges for obstruction of business and breach of trust that Hanmi Science has been engaging in for months."
Hanmi Science recently lodged multiple complaints against Hanmi Pharmaceutical's management. On the 18th, Hanmi Science accused Hanmi Pharmaceutical CEO Park Jae-hyun and other executives of embezzlement and breach of trust. Last week, it filed complaints against Hanmi Group Chairwoman Song Young-sook, Vice Chairwoman Lim Joo-hyun, and Shin Dong-kook, Hanmi Precision Chairman and largest individual shareholder, for alleged obstruction of business through deception. On the 13th, Hanmi Science Director Lim Jong-yoon also backed a criminal complaint by Hanmi Science's major shareholder, Coree Group CEO Han Sung-joon, accusing Chairwoman Song and CEO Park of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
Hanmi Group is currently embroiled in a governance dispute. On one side are the Hanmi Science leadership siblings, Lim Jong-yoon and Lim Jong-hoon, while on the other is a coalition advocating for a professional management system and a reorganization of Hanmi Science’s board of directors. This three-party alliance includes Chairwoman Song and major stakeholders, further intensifying the power struggle over the group’s future.
