[Alpha Biz= Reporter Paul Lee] Hanwha Ocean announced on the 17th that it has won an order for 176.4 billion won for a super-large liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier from a shipowner in the Americas.

Considering that the average price of a LPG carrier is 118 million dollars (about 163.9 billion won), the order was placed at a price higher than 10 billion won.

The ship will be built at Hanwha Ocean's Geoje plant and will be delivered to the shipper by the first quarter of 2027.

Hanwha Ocean has won a total of 17 ships ($3.39 billion) this year, including 12 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, two large crude oil carriers, two ammonia carriers and one LPG carrier.
