[Alpha Biz= Reporter Paul Lee] Kakao Healthcare has recruited Yang Tae-jong, former head of the health development team (vice president) of Samsung Electronics' MX division.

Kakao Healthcare announced on the 22nd that Yang Tae-jong, former vice president of Samsung Electronics, recently joined the company. Former Vice President Yang is in charge of 'advisory (Advisory)' to enter the US market in Kakao Healthcare.

Yang is known to have a rich network in the United States. He worked for United Healthcare, the largest insurance company in the United States, before taking charge of the 'Galaxy Watch 5' and 'Galaxy Watch 5 Pro' projects at Samsung Electronics.

Kakao evaluated former Vice President Yang's experience in leading United Healthcare and Samsung Electronics' healthcare business, and a high understanding of overseas healthcare systems and regulations. Based on this, Kakao Healthcare's virtual care (VC) business and data platform business are expected to play a key role in entering the United States.
