[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] RM, the leader of global K-pop group BTS, has openly shared his complex emotions toward the group’s agency while expressing strong anticipation for the group’s future activities.

BTS held a group live broadcast on fan community platform Weverse on the 21st, during which the members spoke candidly about their plans and feelings regarding upcoming activities. RM stated, “Let’s make 2026 the year of BTS. Something truly big is coming,” with J-Hope adding, “2026 will be a very important year for us.”

As the members reflected on the passage of time, Jimin admitted, “This time period is the hardest,” prompting RM to remark meaningfully, “I wish our company would show us a bit more affection.” When Jin responded that the company has been working hard for them, RM replied cautiously, “I’m not sure. I don’t usually say things like this, but I just wish we were embraced a little more.”

The members had previously discussed their long-awaited full-group comeback during a live broadcast on the 16th, repeatedly expressing their desire to move quickly into the next year. RM in particular voiced his frustration, saying he was eager to return to group activities and hoped the agency would announce comeback plans sooner. Suga noted that an official announcement was expected in the near future.

RM also revealed that he had deeply contemplated the future of the group during their hiatus. “I’ve thought countless times about whether it would be better to disband or pause the team,” he said. “But the reason we continue is because of the love between the members and our love and respect for our fans.”

He acknowledged public criticism questioning why BTS had limited activities in the second half of 2025, explaining that while the group did not want to waste time, there were reasons behind the decision that could not yet be disclosed. “It’s been more than three years since our last concert in October 2022,” RM said. “Of course we want to perform. But many things have changed, and proper preparation is necessary. Personally, the pressure is significant, and constantly preparing without being on stage is frustrating.”

BTS debuted in June 2013 and renewed their contracts with their agency ahead of schedule in October 2018, followed by a second renewal in September 2023. With Suga completing his alternative military service in June this year, all members have now concluded their military obligations, raising expectations for full-group activities in the near future.
