[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] According to the financial investment industry on Friday, Jeong Yeong-chae, the former CEO of NH Investment & Securities, will take on the role of Senior Advisor for the Investment Banking (IB) division at Meritz Securities starting next month.
Meritz Securities aims to strengthen its core IB operations, including the bond issuance market (DCM) and equity issuance market (ECM), by bringing Jeong on board. Additionally, Song Chang-ha, the former head of the Syndication Department at NH Investment & Securities, was also hired as an executive director at the beginning of the year.
Jeong began his career at Daewoo Securities, where he held various positions, including head of the funding department (1997–2000), head of the IB and acquisition departments (2000–2003), head of the planning division (2003–2005), and senior manager in charge of IB (2005). In 2005, he moved to NH Investment & Securities (formerly Woori Investment & Securities), where he led the IB division for 13 years.
He became the CEO of NH Investment & Securities in 2018 and was reappointed for consecutive terms in 2020 and 2022. He stepped down from the CEO position in March of last year and has since been serving as an advisor.
