[Alpha Biz= Reporter Paul Lee] Lotte Shopping filed a lawsuit against tax authorities to cancel the imposition of value-added taxes on the amount paid with points set aside by its affiliates.

Lotte Shopping said on the 18th that it has filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Administrative Court against 116 tax chiefs, including the Seongdong Tax Office, in February to cancel its refusal to revise VAT.

Law firm Gwangjang was in charge of the lawsuit, and the amount initially imposed and filed for correction was 23.8 billion won.

Lotte Shopping argues that VAT should not be imposed on products purchased from Lotte Shopping with L points purchased and accumulated from affiliates such as Lotte Hi-Mart or 7-Eleven.

Lotte Shopping previously filed a lawsuit against 92 tax offices in 2013 after it was asked to exclude the amount of point payments from the VAT list but was not accepted.
