[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] AI service company EastSoft announced on Monday that it has integrated the R1 inference-specialized model into its AI search engine service, Allen, marking the first such application in Korea.

Launched in December last year, Allen positions itself as a "language agent" designed to quickly provide users with precise and diverse search results.

Given that search results vary depending on the underlying language model's performance, Allen has aimed to support multiple LLMs since its inception. The integration of R1 aligns with this strategy.

R1, provided by Allen, operates independently on a separate cloud infrastructure, ensuring complete separation from China's DeepSeek, despite being open-source-based. This setup allows users to utilize R1’s inference capabilities in a secure environment without concerns about data distortion or potential information leaks to China. Furthermore, security is reinforced through collaboration with EastSoft’s security subsidiary, East Security, using the ‘Alyac x LLM’ framework to prevent data breaches proactively.

With the adoption of R1, Allen now offers enhanced search capabilities by combining its sophisticated system—designed to accurately interpret user queries and retrieve optimal documents—with R1’s inference specialization, delivering more precise search results.
