[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SK Innovation is on the verge of securing a large-scale order worth around 2 trillion won from Japanese automaker Nissan.

According to reports from the Nikkei and other outlets on Thursday, SK Innovation has recently agreed to supply 20 GWh of batteries to Nissan’s U.S. plant.

20 GWh is enough to power approximately 300,000 electric vehicles, and if the contract is finalized, it is estimated to be worth around 2.5 trillion won.

The two companies are currently coordinating the specific timing of the contract.

SK Innovation commented, "We are in discussions with the customer regarding the new order."
