[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jihyun] On the 30th, a senior official from the Office of the Minister For Trade stated in a phone call with Alpha Biz, "Naver's perspective is paramount, and if requested, we will review all possible support measures at the Office of the Minister For Trade."
He explained, "We are closely communicating with Naver and sharing the situation with related ministries such as the Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning."
In terms of protecting our industries and companies, he emphasized, "Prioritizing the interests of Naver and other companies in our industry, we will review all requests and support measures as the top priority task," adding, "Direct meetings between Naver and our officials, as well as telephone communication, are already taking place."
He further stated, "The Office of the Minister For Trade is assessing the current situation of Naver internally and sharing information," and elaborated, "We are currently reviewing specific support measures at the ministerial level to suit the current situation."
However, he clarified, "Naver, as a representative platform company in Korea, is expected to have its own management strategy and counter-strategy," explaining, "The Office of the Minister For Trade should devise measures in line with Naver's requests."

Criticism has been mounting against our government's passive response regarding the forced disposal of Naver Line shares by the Japanese government.
