[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] The group New Jeans (photo) has changed their team name to NJZ and kicked off independent activities. NJZ not only unveiled their new team name but also revealed a new profile photo and announced plans for a new song release and stage performances next month.

On the 7th, NJZ revealed their new team name and photo through their official SNS account. They also changed their SNS account name from ‘진즈포프리’ (jeanzforfree) to ‘njz_official’. NJZ also announced that they will participate in the concert series ‘Complex Live’ at the global street fashion and culture festival ‘ComplexCon’ in Hong Kong, taking place from the 21st to the 23rd of next month. This event will mark their first stage performance after changing their team name.

Member Minji expressed excitement, saying, “I am very excited to be able to show a new side of ourselves as NJZ on stage for the first time. This performance is very important, and I am eagerly waiting to share the new music that we’ve wanted to show to our global fans.”

On the same day, NJZ held a live broadcast on SNS, during which they revealed news about their upcoming song release. Minji shared, “On the last day of ComplexCon, March 23rd, we will release NJZ’s new song and debut track.” Hyein added, “Don’t worry, we’ll have an agent soon.”

While NJZ revealed their new team name, ADOR expressed regret. ADOR stated, “We are very sorry that the members made this unilateral decision before a legal judgment on the validity of the exclusive contract. We will do our best to protect the brand value of New Jeans.”

Meanwhile, next month, a legal battle between NJZ and ADOR is also expected. ADOR has filed for a provisional injunction to prevent NJZ’s members from engaging in actions like entering into agency contracts and advertisement deals. The hearing for the injunction is set for the 7th of next month.
