T’way Air Flight Delayed Over Five Hours Due to Aircraft Malfunction

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] A T’way Air flight departing from Cheongju International Airport faced a significant delay of over five hours on December 5 due to an aircraft malfunction.

According to the aviation industry, flight TW249, scheduled to depart Cheongju at 9:55 a.m. for Osaka Kansai, encountered technical issues with the aircraft. For safety reasons, T’way Air decided to replace the aircraft, causing the delay.

The 173 passengers onboard waited in the airport terminal until the replacement aircraft was prepared. Boarding commenced at approximately 2:50 p.m., and the substitute aircraft took off at 3:12 p.m.

The specific cause of the malfunction has not yet been determined.

T’way Air emphasized that the delay was necessary to ensure passenger safety, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining stringent safety standards. The company has not yet disclosed further details about the technical issues.
