Ecopro announced on the 10th that it will invest 1.2 trillion won in Korea alone, mainly in Pohang campus in Gyeongbuk this year.

Specifically, 690 billion won will be invested in the expansion of the Pohang precursor plant, 320 billion won and 160 billion won, respectively, to expand the anode and lithium hydroxide plants, and 10 billion won to produce industrial gas. Through this investment, Ecopro will complete the construction of its subsidiary Ecoprom's high nickel anode material (NCA) production plant CAM8, Ecopro-innovation's lithium hydroxide production plant LHM2, Eco Materials' precursor plant (CPM) and sulfuric acid process (RMP) in the first half of this year. The sulfate process is a precursor pre-process.

Ecopro intends to complete the 4th campus, which is being built on about 165,000 square meters of land in Pohang's Yeongil Bay Industrial Complex.

Once the Pohang 4 campus is completed, the Pohang campus will become a large-scale secondary battery industrial complex that produces 270,000 tons of anode materials, 110,000 tons of precursor materials and 20,000 6000t of lithium hydroxide annually. The 270,000 tons of bipolar materials produced at the Pohang campus can produce about 3 million electric vehicles.
