[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC), an international association of CAD software technology providers, announced on the 10th that it has filed a lawsuit against China-based ZWSOFT (ZW) and Korea-based ZYX Technology for alleged copyright infringement.

In its complaint, ITC claims that ZYX Technology sold and distributed “ZyxCAD,” a rebranded version of ZWSOFT’s “ZwCAD,” without obtaining the appropriate software licenses. ITC also alleges that ZWSOFT violated its contractual obligations by granting ZYX Technology unauthorized access to ITC-developed software components.

ITC further stated that ZYX Technology marketed the software to Korean public institutions and educational organizations as a Korean product, rather than identifying it as originating from China.

“We will take all necessary actions to protect the investments and rights of our members,” said ITC President Shawn Linzy.

The positions of ZWSOFT and ZYX Technology have not yet been confirmed.
