[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Chey Shin-won, who recently returned to management after receiving a presidential pardon, has decided not to receive compensation.

According to SK Networks on April 23, Chey will serve in an advisory capacity without pay. The company said the decision reflects his intention to contribute to both the company and society.

Chey, a former chairman of SK Networks, was sentenced by the Supreme Court in May last year to two years and six months in prison on charges including embezzlement and breach of trust. He was later pardoned in August as part of Korea’s Liberation Day amnesty and was appointed honorary chairman earlier this month.

His return to management has drawn some criticism, but the company said he will focus on supporting business growth, advising on domestic and global networks, and engaging in social contribution activities.
