[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] On New Year's Day, a Korean Air flight bound for Macau was delayed for over four hours due to an aircraft malfunction, the airline confirmed on Thursday.

Flight KE169, originally scheduled to depart from Incheon International Airport at 9:35 PM, experienced an issue after pushback when a message regarding the aircraft's air supply system appeared.

As a result, 102 passengers were transferred to another aircraft, departing at 1:37 AM the following day. The original aircraft, a Boeing 737-900, was replaced with a Boeing 737-8.

Korean Air clarified that the replacement aircraft was not the same model as the Boeing 737-800 involved in the Jeju Air crash.

"We regret the delay caused by an issue in the aircraft's air supply system, which required a change of aircraft," the airline stated, adding, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to our passengers."
