[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] On Friday, the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) informed Naver Financial, the operator of Naver Pay, that it will be subject to a regular inspection.

The FSS plans to begin its regular inspection of Naver Financial in the first half of this year. This marks the first time that the FSS is targeting big tech companies for a regular inspection.

Earlier, the FSS had announced in its 2025 Inspection Plan on January 19 that it would conduct regular inspections of major big tech firms such as Naver Financial, Kakao Pay, and Viva Republica (Toss) within the year.

During the inspection of Naver Financial, the FSS is expected to focus on issues related to payment gateway (PG) operations, including settlement management systems.
