[Alpha Biz= Kim Sangjin] SPC Group, the operator of Paris Baguette, announced on Thursday its plan to build a bakery production facility in Texas, USA.

The group has identified the City of Burleson in Johnson County, Texas, as the prospective site and is finalizing discussions with local authorities on investment plans and subsidies. The agreement is expected to be concluded as early as this month.

Texas, located in the central region of the U.S., offers excellent logistics accessibility to the entire country as well as Canada and Central America. It is also regarded as a business-friendly region due to its attractive investment incentives and favorable employment environment.

To attract the investment, local governments in Johnson County and Burleson are offering approximately $10 million (about 14.7 billion KRW) in subsidies to Paris Baguette.

The Texas bakery facility will serve as a production hub for supplying bakery products to Paris Baguette stores in the U.S. and Canada, as well as to future markets in Central and South America.

With an investment of approximately $160 million (about 236.3 billion KRW) and spanning a land area of about 150,000 square meters, the facility is set to become SPC Group's largest overseas production site.
