[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Uplus has become the first telecom company in South Korea to offer a drone-based smartphone delivery service for customers in island regions. This innovative service is designed to improve delivery speed for residents in remote areas where transportation options are limited.

Starting from October 2, LG Uplus, led by CEO Hwang Hyeon-sik, will use drones to deliver smartphones to three islands off the coast of Jeju: Gapado, Biyangdo, and Marado. The company expects the service to significantly enhance customer convenience.
