[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul/Incheon, July 2, 2025 — Authorities tightened patrols at Incheon International Airport after a post threatening to bomb Shinsegae Duty Free appeared on social media Tuesday afternoon. The threat also mentioned Everland, a major theme park operated by Shinsegae Group.

According to Incheon International Airport Corporation and the Incheon Airport Police Unit, the post was uploaded at approximately 3:22 p.m. and was reported immediately by Shinsegae Duty Free. Police and airport officials conducted searches across duty-free zones in Terminals 1 and 2 but found no suspicious items.

A Shinsegae Duty Free spokesperson said, “We immediately reported the threat to the police after discovering it on social media. The same post also contained threats against Everland.”

Authorities noted that security patrols have been strengthened in response to a series of recent online bomb threats. Last month, a false bomb threat at Shinsegae’s flagship department store in central Seoul forced the evacuation of some 4,000 people before police confirmed there were no explosives.
