[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] HYBE announced on July 15 that it will file an official objection to the police’s decision not to indict former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin on charges of breach of trust.

The announcement comes after Min's legal team revealed that the Seoul Yongsan Police Station decided not to refer her case to prosecution. HYBE had filed the criminal complaint in April 2023, accusing Min of attempting a management takeover and committing a breach of fiduciary duty.

A HYBE spokesperson stated, “Since the initial investigation, there have been new developments, including NewJeans members declaring their intent to terminate their contracts, and several new pieces of evidence were submitted during related legal proceedings. Based on this, the court has made severe judgments regarding Min’s actions.”

The company further emphasized, “The Seoul High Court, in its injunction appeal ruling, acknowledged that Min was deliberately undermining the integrated structure that underpinned the exclusive contracts. We intend to challenge the non-indictment decision through the formal objection process.”

Meanwhile, HYBE also noted that the police dismissed counterclaims filed by Min Hee-jin and others against five HYBE executives, which included allegations of obstruction of business and defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act. The police found no grounds for those charges.
