[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Nongshim announced on May 14 that the initial shipment of approximately one million units of its newly launched product, Shin Ramyun Toomba, in Japan has sold out just two weeks after release.

Launched last month in partnership with Seven-Eleven Japan—the country’s leading convenience store chain—Shin Ramyun Toomba garnered immediate attention as a popular Korean hit product and was stocked across all stores nationwide. The product received an overwhelming consumer response, with some stores experiencing sell-outs shortly after launch. Nongshim is currently in discussions with Seven-Eleven Japan to arrange additional supply and expand distribution volumes.

A Nongshim official commented, “Shin Ramyun Toomba has been widely praised for its uniquely differentiated flavor—rare in the Japanese instant noodle market—and its pasta-style noodles and sauce, designed for microwave preparation.”

Following the success of the cup noodle version, Nongshim plans to introduce the bagged version of Shin Ramyun Toomba to the Japanese market in stages. Starting in the third quarter of this year, it will be available at specialty imported food retailers such as AEON Caferrante and Kaldi Coffee Farm, with a nationwide rollout across major retail outlets planned for the fourth quarter.
