[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Seoul, August 28, 2025 — Travelers are voicing strong complaints after Jeju Air announced the suspension of its Guam route, leaving many stranded with non-refundable hotel and tour bookings.
“I spent months preparing for this trip, but just days before departure, I was told my flight was canceled. The airfare will be refunded, but my hotel reservation was non-refundable, and I already paid in full for local tours,” said one office worker, who is now unsure whether to cancel the trip entirely.
Jeju Air has recently begun scaling back or suspending certain international routes due to declining profitability, causing significant disruption to passengers’ travel plans. The impact is particularly severe for families, as Guam is a popular holiday destination among group and family travelers.
According to the airline industry on August 28, Jeju Air will suspend all flights on its Incheon–Guam and Busan–Da Nang routes from October 26, 2025, through March 29, 2026. Since August 26, the airline has been notifying affected customers via text message and mobile alerts, citing “business plan adjustments” as the reason for the cancellations.
