[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Cuckoo Electronics, a major home appliance brand in South Korea, has been ordered to halt sales and recall certain microwave models after it was found that the included oven pans were imported without proper approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS).

According to the MFDS on July 1, Cuckoo imported and distributed microwave oven pans from China without submitting the required import declaration. The unregistered oven pans were sold as part of three microwave models:

CMOS-A4410B (1,893 units)

CMW-CO3010DW (8,465 units)

CMW-C3020OEGW (6,469 units)

The MFDS has classified this recall as Grade 1, the most serious level, which applies when consumption or use of a product could significantly endanger human health or involve severe regulatory violations.

The oven pans, categorized as food-contact utensils, are subject to strict import declaration requirements in South Korea to ensure consumer safety. Cuckoo Electronics is now required to immediately cease sales and retrieve all affected products from the market.
