[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, South Korea – June 11, 2025 — Samsung SDI announced today that it has signed a supply agreement with Tesvolt, a leading German manufacturer specializing in commercial energy storage systems (ESS), to provide battery solutions for use in ESS applications.

Under the agreement, Samsung SDI will deliver its all-in-one battery product, the Samsung Battery Box (SBB), to Tesvolt by the end of this month. Tesvolt will integrate the battery systems with its own power conversion systems (PCS) and cybersecurity technologies to produce and install comprehensive ESS solutions across Europe.

Both companies plan to expand their collaboration through further supply negotiations and joint promotional efforts to secure future ESS projects globally.

The SBB is a 20-foot containerized solution that combines battery cells, modules, and racks into a turnkey system. Designed for grid-connected deployment, the SBB has earned global recognition — particularly in the U.S. and European markets — for its exceptional safety and streamlined installation.

Samsung SDI will initially supply the SBB 1.0 model to Tesvolt and begin delivering the upgraded SBB 1.5 starting in the second quarter of 2026. The SBB 1.5 features enhanced capacity, safety, and operational convenience. The model earned a CES 2025 Innovation Award earlier this year in Las Vegas.

Tesvolt is a frontrunner in the European commercial ESS market and continues its rapid growth, including a major contract to supply ESS infrastructure in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The company is also expanding into large-scale utility ESS applications.
