[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul, South Korea — HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), the intermediate holding company for HD Hyundai’s shipbuilding division, announced on August 20 that it has signed a share purchase agreement with Doosan Enerbility to acquire 100% of the shares in Doosan Enerbility Vietnam (Doosan Vina). The total transaction value is approximately KRW 290 billion (USD 290 million).

Doosan Vina, established in 2006, is located about 120 kilometers south of Da Nang, Vietnam. The facility has specialized in the production of thermal power plant boilers, port cranes, and LNG plant modules.

Following the acquisition, HD KSOE plans to maintain Doosan Vina’s existing operations while transforming the site into a dedicated production hub for independent cargo tanks and a strategic base for port crane operations in the Asian region.

Independent tanks are critical components for eco-friendly vessels, including LNG-fueled ships, LPG carriers, ammonia carriers, and liquefied CO₂ carriers. With the International Maritime Organization (IMO) strengthening environmental regulations, demand for such equipment continues to rise globally.

This acquisition is expected to enhance HD KSOE’s competitiveness in next-generation green ship technologies and reinforce its leadership in sustainable shipbuilding solutions.
