[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Korea Investment & Securities, the largest brokerage in South Korea, has experienced another system error, adding to a series of recent IT issues that have unsettled investors.

In a notice released on June 16, the company said an error involving the misstatement of returns in 일부 accounts has been resolved and all affected data has been normalized.

According to the firm, 일부 data from sell transactions executed on June 11 was temporarily misreported on June 15 due to a system malfunction. The issue has since been corrected, and the affected accounts have been restored to normal.

The brokerage added that for certain accounts involving securities lending or outgoing balances, the final reflection of returns may take additional time depending on processing procedures.

The latest glitch follows a string of system-related disruptions. In March, during a period of heightened market volatility, errors in balance inquiries for some retirement pension accounts caused confusion among investors.

In addition, on May 15, the Financial Supervisory Service imposed a fine of 100 million won on the firm for violating its obligation to ensure system stability during a program modification process.

The recurring incidents have intensified concerns over the company’s system reliability and internal controls.
